Part of being in a creative industry is accepting that a lot of times, your most passionate ideas don’t make it past the client’s chopping block.

But it’s often those passion projects or creative experiments that fuel your creativity and help you grow.

Here are a few non-client projects that have sparked joy, or a little chuckle, recently.

MAKING A SANDBOX

Sandbox is a creative mentorship program that provides opportunities for young people from underrepresented backgrounds to explore a career in creative advertising.

Before launching the program into the real world, I was part of a small creative team that put together the brand guidelines (including messaging, voice and tone, and design and motion identity) that brought our mission to life.

AI PROMPTS GONE WRONG

You may have heard of this little thing called “Artificial Intelligence” aka AI by now. And yes, it can do some pretty amazing things. I’ve used AI recently to help me structure a presentation outline, explain the differences between marketing funnels like I am a five year old, and even create some video content. While I work on perfecting my prompting skills, please enjoy my most unsuccessful attempts (thus far) and the prompts that led to disaster.
